2007 Holy Week Service
Yes, it is time for Holy Week – and the great drama of Easter! So, here is our Holy Week Schedule:
Palm Sunday (April 1st) – Palm Sunday marks the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, and the recognition that Christ was born to be our sovereign. The Sunday school children will be handing out palms. We will take the next to last step in our Lenten journey through the 23rd Psalm, as we focus on verse 5 and the theme “Anointed by God.”
Maundy Thursday (April 5th) is the observance of the last Supper, which gives way to the story of Christ’s passion. We invite you to join us for a new look at Christ’s walk down the Via de la Cruces (the way of the Cross). This walk will be an audio and visual experience that takes us to the cross and Jesus burial. Please join us for one of the most meaningful services in the Christian year.
Easter Sunday (April 8th) – Our worship service on Easter Sunday will take place at 9:30 am, and will include lots of wonderful music by the bell choir and senior choir. The pastor will conclude his series “The Lord is my Shepherd – A walk through the 23rd Psalm, with the final verse of this great Psalm, as we focus on the theme, “Secure Forever!” Come join us in the celebration of the Easter event!!
BRIGHT Sunday, April 15th – So, you think Easter is over and done with on April 8th? Not so fast! The Worship Board is planning to continue the Easter celebration with BRIGHT Sunday on April 15th. What is Bright Sunday? Well, it’s a special day to continue the Easter celebration. There will be plenty of “bright” music – you know Bonnie, so you know the music will be really uplifting. You have your outfits for Easter? Well, on BRIGHT Sunday, we want you to come dressed in your brightest outfits – even those loud Hawaiian shirts you keep stored in your closet. Come dressed to celebrate!!
