Cancellation Policy Reminder

During the winter time, there is always a big struggle to decide whether to hold church in the event of a storm. The biggest part of the struggle is how do you notify people? So, we thought we might review the cancellation policy.

In general, church will be held if there is just a small snow storm, but we advise folks to use their own discretion about going out. Use your own comfort level as a guide.

In the case where there is no power in the center of town, church will be cancelled. No light and no heat makes for a very austere worship experience.

In the case of a severe storm, the pastor will confer with the Moderator and decide whether church will be held.

Now comes the tough part. If we decide to cancel church, how do we let people know? The church office has developed a contact list of those who attend church regularly. After the decision to cancel has been made, the pastor will contact Channel 2 and have the announcement posted. In addition, the pastor will send an email (by 8:00 a.m.) to all those for whom we have email addresses. So be sure to check your email before you get ready for church. For those who do not have email, we are devising a call list to call people by phone to notify them of the cancellation. Hopefully, between the two, we will get to those most likely to attend.

Nursery

The Spiritual Growth Board has been working hard to insure that nursery services are provided at the time of worship service. We are pleased to announce that Sue Sally will be joining the staff as our nursery attendant. Sue works with the Head Start program, and is a certified worker in our After School Child Care Program. We welcome her aboard and hope to assure parents that nursery care will be available.
